HARRIS COUNTY, Texas – Sheriff’s deputies say two brothers are dead following an apparent murder-suicide at their parents’ home.
It occurred at about 9:30 p.m. Thursday on Homebrook near Silver Oak, just south of the Houston National Cemetery.
According to investigators with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, the two men got into an argument inside the home. They then went outside where one brother pulled out a gun and shot the other. He then turned the gun on himself.
One died at the scene, and the other was taken to the hospital where he also died.
Both men were said to be in their late 20s to early 30s.
Their father spoke with KHOU 11 News the following morning. He says he heard the gunshots, but by then it was too late for him to intervene.
“I don’t have time to come, I only see from window, when I opened the door, he shoot already," said Rosalio Batillo.
Authorities are working with the parents to determine what led up to the shooting.
“They’re at this point talking to the investigators trying to get clarity of what happened here, trying to figure out what caused the argument initially," said Sgt. Cedtrick Collier with HCSO.
