HARRIS COUNTY, Texas - Armed suspects fled the scene before deputies arrived to a home invasion in northwest Harris County, according to the Harris County Sheriff's Office.
Suspects opened fire in the middle of the street while trying to get away from concerned neighbors who were chasing them.
A relative across the street saw the crooks enter the house and called 911. Her adult son and another male chased the crooks who fled on foot.
The crooks were in pursuit of money and other valuables. No one was injured.
At least three suspects broke into a residence located at 6310 Chippewa that had one woman and her seven children inside.
One suspect is in custody after being picked up on foot not far from the scene. He is now being questioned.
Harris County dogs are searching the area for the remaining suspects.
