A stolen car leads to police chase and violent crash

KINGWOOD, Texas - After a man allegedly stole a woman's car from a Walmart parking lot Monday afternoon, he incited a police chase after he tried to sell the car to a local car dealership.

The chase ended violently at the intersection of the Eastex Freeway feeder road and North Park when the suspect ran a red light and slammed the stolen car into the back of a pickup truck. The truck had a man and young boy inside and they were both taken to the hospital along with the suspect.

The incident started at the Walmart in Porter when authorities say the suspect saw a shopper get in her car. He told her that something was wrong with her trunk and when she got out to look, he got behind the wheel.

The victim tried to stop him and was dragged by her car for some distance. The suspect then hit two other cars in the parking lot.

The suspect's next stop was a local car dealership. Sensing trouble, the dealership called the cops. As they approached, the suspect took off and a chase ensued.

The car's owner is reportedly doing fine. No word yet on the condition of the two inside of the pickup truck.

The suspect will head to jail as soon as he is released from the hospital.
