HARIS COUNTY --Authorities are investigating the death of a 34-year-old woman who was found with a gunshot wound in northwest Harris County.

The Harris County Sheriff’s Office says deputies responded to 13900 block of Chuckwood just after 3:30 p.m. Tuesday for the report of a woman’s body found in a residence.

The woman’s oldest daughter and her sisters noticed their mom's car was in the driveway but all the doors were locked.

The 12-year-old daughter broke a window, got in and made the gruesome discovery.

She ran down the street for help and found a neighbor who called 911. That neighbor said moments before the girl ran to him for help, he saw a man leave the house with a plastic garbage bag.

Family members say the man is a friend of the victim, Darlishia Watson.

"Aunt Quita, my mom is dead," the youngest daughter wrote in a text to Quita Wright.

"My heart just dropped,” Wright said.

Harris County deputies say Watson died from at least one gunshot wound and was found in a pool of blood on the floor.

So far, no one has been arrested in the case.

Harris County deputies and Houston police homicide detectives are investigating.
