HOUSTON — A woman was shot during a crime spree Friday evening in southwest Houston, police said.
According to the Houston Police Department, four suspects stole a purple minivan from a man in the 7500 block of Corporate Drive around 9 p.m. The suspects held up the man at gunpoint and demanded his belongings before they took off in the minivan.
However, the victim had a GPS tracking device and a kill switch on the vehicle, which turned the minivan off after it was reported stolen, police said. The minivan was left at the intersection of Westpark and Wilcrest.
The suspects fled the intersection on foot and the minivan was returned to its owner.
The suspects headed north of Wilcrest and made their way to the Alta Royal Oaks Apartments, police said. They then found two female roommates, who had just pulled into the parking lot and were unloading groceries.
They jumped to the two roommates and shot one of them in the stomach, police said. The suspects then fled in the victim’s gray Nissan Versa, which was later recovered in the 4200 block of Bellpark.
The victim was transported to the hospital in stable condition.
The four suspects are on the loose. Contact authorities if you have any information regarding this case.
