HOUSTON—The woman who pleaded guilty to killing two teens after she was caught on tape downing 21 drinks is filing for a new trial in Montgomery County.

Nicole Baukus has a new attorney and says her previous attorney convinced her to plead guilty to intoxication manslaughter in the middle of her trial.

She now says she did not understand the risks.

Prosecutors showed video of her drinking, before she got behind the wheel and drove the wrong way down the north freeway.

She was sentenced to 38 years behind bars.

Fred Saunders' son was one of the victims in the crash. He was outraged by Baukus' appeal.

"I don't think she was raised to accept responsibility," Saunders said. "Shame on you."
