HOUSTON -- An argument between a couple led to a woman being hit by a car Friday night on FM 1960 in northwest Harris County, deputies said.
According to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, a man and a woman were arguing in a car at around 11 p.m. at the intersection of TC Jester and FM 1960 when the woman decided to exit the vehicle.
When the woman tried to cross the street, she was hit by a passing car, deputies said.
The driver of the vehicle that hit the woman did not stop, but deputies were able to track him down. They said he faces a charge of failure to stop and render aid, but was not under the influence.
The victim, who was said to be in her mid-30s, was transported to Ben Taub Hospital after suffering head trauma, deputies said. She is expected to live.
No other charges are expected to be filed at this time.
