HOUSTON –- Police were on the hunt early Thursday for a group of men who broke into a southwest Houston home and shot two people inside.

According to officers with the Houston Police Department, the shooting happened around midnight on Shannon Hills Drive at Brookglade Circle.

The suspects broke into the home through a back window and shot two men inside. A woman in the home managed to hide, and the suspects apparently never even knew she was there, police said.

One of the shooting victims was struck in the chest and was taken to the hospital in serious but stable condition. The other victim was shot in his left arm and was sent to the hospital in stable condition.

Police believe the men broke in to burglarize the home, but they didn’t know if anything was taken.

The men got away. A suspect description was not provided.
