HOUSTON – A 20-year-old woman has been arrested and charged with intoxication manslaughter after a three-vehicle accident left another woman dead Saturday night in west Houston, police said.
Morgan E. Steffan is charged with intoxication manslaughter in the death of a 24-year-old woman, whose identity has not been released at this time, court documents state.
According to the Houston Police Department, the fatal accident happened around 10 p.m. at 8500 Richmond near Dunvale.
Investigators said Morgan was driving a tan Ford Taurus east on Richmond, when she ran a red light and struck a white Toyota Matrix traveling north on Dunvale.
The Taurus then continued into the westbound lanes of Richmond and struck silver Mazda S26, driven by the victim.
The victim was transported to an area hospital where she was pronounced dead, police said. Her identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
