HOUSTON—Equusearch volunteers will head back out Saturday morning to search for a young woman who from Humble.

Amber Elkins, 20, was last heard from Monday morning.

Her SUV was later found with the window smashed out and blood inside behind a car wash in the 13900 block of Homestead Road near Humble.

"Just from the amount of blood we have, it’s clear that somebody is seriously injured if not dead," said Harris County sheriff’s detective Ben Beall.

The man who found the Chevrolet Trail Blazer said it was a "horrific" site because of the amount of blood.

Volunteers searched all day Friday, but found no sign of Elkins.

Her relatives hugged each other at the end of the day at the command center on Homestead Road.

"I just want to find her. I don’t want her to be out there anymore," said Shani Kilpatrick. "Just not looking good."

She became worried after an unidentified male answered her daughter’s phone very early Monday morning. Kilpatrick said he hung up then turned the phone off.

Elkins has a 9 month-old-daughter who is with her father.

Her family said she was fighting for custody of the child and was getting back on her feet after a misdemeanor drug charge.

Investigators continue questioning a number of people.

So far no one has been arrested.

Elkins is about 5 feet, 8 inches tall, with black hair and brown eyes. She has two stars tattooed on her wrist and the word "Ace" tattooed on her ankle.
