HARRIS COUNTY, Texas -- A father is behind bars after his son died on Thanksgiving night.
It happened in the 2300 block of Union Mill Road near Veterans Memorial Drive.
Deputies say 11-month-old Kaden Perkins was visiting his dad and three young half sisters for the holiday.
There were reportedly 30 to 40 people at the house celebrating too. But something happened just after 5 p.m. and 911 was called.
The little boy was rushed to the hospital and was dead when he arrived. He had severe bruises on his face and head along with a fractured skull.
The father, Tremaine Rachal, was arrested and told a judge that Kaden fell off the bed and onto a carpeted floor.
In court, we learned the doctor who performed the autopsy argued that the injuries could not have been suffered by that story.
Rachal has been charged with injury to a child but that charge could be upgraded to murder. His bond is set at $50,000.
Other family members are being interviewed as possible witnesses.
The three girls who lived in the house were removed by CPS and placed with their biological mothers' family.
