HOUSTON—Three stores were smashed into and robbed in the early morning hours on Tuesday.
The first took place at Expert Wireless around 2:30 a.m. on Gulfbank and Antoine.
Surveillance tape shows a suspect trying to pry open a lock before getting into a truck and reversing it right into the store. Three suspects run in, grab merchandise and take off.
Minutes after the cellphone store smash and grab, workers tell us someone riding a bike decided to help themselves in the back. That person stole cellphones and laptops.
About 90 minutes later, the EZ Pawn shop on North Shepherd was targeted. Police believe seven suspects were involved in this smash and grab.
Again, the suspects used a truck to reverse right into the store. High definition TVs and Playstations were stolen.
Officers were able to recover the items but the suspects still managed to get away.
"So far it could be coincidental, but it doesn’t stop there. We don’t have anything that supports that they are related," said Sergeant Edward Romo with HPD.
A half hour after that, a few miles away at Up N’ Smoke on North Houston and Roslyn, another smash and grab took place.
Cops are looking for about a dozen suspects in all and determine exactly how much was stolen.
