HARRIS COUNTY, Texas – A Friday morning home invasion sent a teenager to the hospital with gunshot wounds to his stomach and leg, deputies said.
According to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, it happened around 7 a.m. in the 4800-block of Debeney Drive near Mac Naughton Drive.
Deputies said four suspects rushed into a home where a mother and her two teenage sons were sleeping. The suspects shot one of the sons, a 17-year-old, multiple times and then fled the scene.
The wounded teen was sent to the hospital in critical but stable condition.
Church friends arrived at the home to comfort the teen’s mom, who was visibly upset.
As part of the investigation, sheriff’s deputies tested the teenager and his mom for gunshot residue. They said the testing was routine.
A neighbor told KHOU 11 News the family’s father owns a remodeling business, and he was out of town at the time of the invasion.
It wasn’t immediately known what the motive for the invasion was.
Anyone with information is asked to call Houston Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS or the Harris County Sheriff’s Office at 713-755-6044.
