HUMBLE, Texas—Two women who were caught shoplifting struck a store employee with a car while trying to make their getaway, according to Humble police.

Police said on July 3, 42-year-old Sharon Lynn Peters and 26-year-old Tamra J. Ellis were caught shoplifting in an Academy store.

A store employee followed the women outside attempting to write down their license plate number when one of them backed into the worker with the car.

The employee suffered an injury to the arm and police were called to the scene.

Both women were charged with robbery with bodily injury.
