HARRIS COUNTY – A suspect wanted in connection with a shooting that left three people dead and two others critical wounded was arrested Saturday in east Harris County, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
Johnathan “J Boi” Sanchez, 25, is charged with capital murder in the deaths of Daniel Munoz, 17, Veronica Hernandez, 17, and Alfaro Yosselm, 21, who were shot on Wednesday at 8200 Sunbury Lane.
According to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, the Texas Gulf Coast Violent Offenders Task Force apprehended Sanchez after they found him hiding in a gang home on Holly Park near Uvalde. Sanchez was at the home in the garage watching a boxing match on TV with several other people.
Authorities said Sanchez was in possession of a handgun when he was taken into custody.
Investigators said the incident started on Wednesday after a neighbor called 911 after hearing back-to-back gunshots. There was no disturbance heard prior to the gunfire.
All five victims were shot in the head execution-style. The three victims died at the scene, while another woman and a man were rushed to Memorial Hermann Hospital by Life Flight helicopters.
Sheriff Adrian Garcia said the victims are young adults ranging in ages from 18 years old to the early 20s.
”It’s a waste of human life,” Garcia said. “Young people who will not get to fulfill the promise that they were born with.”
