HOUSTON – Houston police have arrested a man they say stabbed a disabled woman, then left her to die outside her southeast Houston apartment Sunday evening.

Michael Walker, 49, has been charged with murder.

Lenora Reese’s 16-year-old son found her bleeding in the parking lot of the Sunset Valley Apartments in the 6700 block of Fairway Drive around 5:30 p.m. Family members told KHOU 11 News that someone stabbed the 35-year-old woman and then pushed her out of a car before speeding away.

Paramedics responded and were transporting Reese to the hospital, but she died on the way there.

Family members were screaming and crying when they learned the devastating news. Reese’s son told KHOU 11 News that he had just buried his father, and now would have to deal with his mom’s death.

Relatives said Reese, who had a stroke years ago, could no longer use her right arm. Loved ones described her as a good sweet young lady and could not imagine why anyone would want to harm her.

Further investigation and witness statements identified Walker as the suspect in this case, along with the description of the vehicle he was driving.

Walker later turned himself in at the HPD Southeast Police Station at 8300 Mykawa and was subsequently charged for his role in Reese’s death.

Walker admitted to investigators he and Reese, who are acquaintances, had used narcotics prior to the incident.
