HOUSTON – Houston police have arrested and charged a suspect in the shooting death of a man found lying on a street located just north of downtown Houston.
Dan Ibarra, 34, was found dead at about 1:20 p.m. on April 17 at 2100 Hardy Street.
Witnesses said Ibarra was inside a silver car with two unknown males at the intersection of Noble and Hardy. That’s where he was shot and then pulled from the vehicle and left in the street. Police said the suspects then fled the scene in the silver vehicle.
The victim was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Police said further investigation led them to identify Michael Duran Demas, 34, as a suspect. He turned himself in at the Houston Police Department headquarters last Friday.
Demas is charged with capital murder.
The second person involved in the shooting remains at large, police said.
