FORT BEND COUNTY, Texas -- Fort Bend County Crimes Stoppers, Inc. will pay up to $5,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the suspect who attempted to sexually assault a woman while she was jogging near the Grand Mission subdivision.
At about 4 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 12, 2014, the victim was jogging on a secluded area adjacent to a jogging trail near the Grand Mission subdivision on Bellaire Boulevard.
The suspect, a white male, is described as mid- to late 20s, about 6-feet tall and weighing about 200 pounds. He was wearing navy blue basketball shorts and a red hoodie. He has a tattoo on the right side of his neck in a “tribal” type design in color described as dark (possibly black). The size of the tattoo was around one inch in height and around four inches in length.
Safety recommendations for joggers include:
- Exercising with others
- Provide notice to others concerning your whereabouts and your anticipated time of return
- Carry a cell phone in the event you may need to summon assistance (911)
- Remain in those areas able to be viewed by others and avoid secluded pathways
- Be aware of your surroundings and have a plan of action and escape in the event of being approached
The Sheriff’s Office had a sketch made of the suspect and is seeking help in identifying the suspect in this case.
Information which leads to the apprehension and filing of charges on the suspect involved could earn a reward of up to $5,000.
