HOUSTON – Four people were arrested during a raid of a game room Friday night in north Harris County, deputies said.
According to the Harris County Precinct 1 Constable’s Office, deputies raided a game room just before 11 p.m. in the 5700 block of Airline Drive near Dipping Lane.
Investigators burst in and found 30 people playing inside. Pct. 1 Constable Alan Rosen said this is just one of many raids to help clean up the area.
“A lot of these illegal gaming establishments breed other criminal elements,” Rosen said. “When I took office, I was charged with really trying to clean up Precinct 1, and that’s exactly what I’m doing.”
Rosen said his office is doing everything it can to stamp out illegal gaming. The establishment had been under surveillance for some time before the warrants had been served.
About 170 machines were confiscated and no injuries were reported during the raid.
