HOUSTON – A security guard was wounded early Saturday during a shooting at a northwest Houston apartment complex, police said.

According to the Houston Police Department, three security guards had detained a man around 1:30 a.m. and were questioning him at the Oakwood Gardens Apartment Homes, located in the 5600 block of Antoine near West Tidwell.

Then another man came walking on by and started yelling at the guards, saying, “Why are you holding him.” A couple of the guards walked over to the second man before he took off running.

However, the second man then turned around across the street and started shooting at the security guards, police said. One of the guards was hit in the leg.

The wounded guard was transported to Ben Taub Hospital in stable condition, police said.

The shooting suspect got away.
