STAFFORD, Texas -- Two men wanted in connection with the shooting of a Stafford police officer have been arrested after police received tips from citizens.
The information helped Stafford police arrest Freddy Henriquez early Friday morning. Later on Friday a CrimeStoppers tip led police to Daniel Cruz, the final person of interest wanted by Stafford police.
She asked for the public’s help in locating the suspects who opened fire.
“If you could do anything to help us in this case, then you would be protecting the protectors,” she said.
Carrizalez pursued the suspects’ vehicle after being shot in the chest and in the face.
The chase ended in Houston several minutes later.
Police arrested Sergio Rodriguez almost immediately. All three men have been charged with aggravated assault on an officer.
Crimestoppers announced a $10,000 reward for information leading to an arrest.
Carrizalez, who was wearing her bullet-proof vest, suffered only superficial injuries.
The married mother of two said she plans to return to the streets after spending some quality time with her family.
“I just want to give myself some time to relax and enjoy the beauty of life that I’ve been blessed to have more of,” she said.
