LEAGUE CITY, Texas — In 1986, Clyde Edwin Hedrick was convicted of abusing a woman’s corpse. On Thursday authorities accused the San Leon resident of killing that same woman.
Hedrick, 59, was arrested Thursday afternoon and charged with murder in the cold-case killing of Ellen Rae Beason, who in 1984 was 29 years old when she was reported to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office as a missing person.
The arrest was the result of an investigation by Lt. Tommy Hansen, who continues to work with the FBI on cold cases after his retirement from the Galveston County Sheriff’s Office.
