HARRIS COUNTY, Texas — Harris County Sheriff’s deputies’ quick response may have saved the life of a robbery victim early Thursday.

A man was returning home to One Camden Court Apartments around 1 a.m. when he was jumped and held up by three men outside of his apartment. His roommate, who was home at the time, heard the commotion and looked out the window. When he saw what was happening, he immediately called 911.

Three HCSO deputies were at a shopping center on Antoine, just a block away, and managed to get there while the crime was being committed. But when the suspects saw the officers, they bolted.

Deputies set up a perimeter and searched with K-9 units and a police helicopter, but could not find them. Even though the suspects got away, the victim was not hurt and nothing was taken from him because the officers managed to get to him in time.
