HARRIS COUNTY—Neighbors of a man shot to death on Aldine Westfield Sunday night believe the attack was not a random road rage event as authorities first suspected.

“I’m kind of nervous,” said Daniella Benitec, who said she heard several shots after a group of people she had never seen before showed up at the suspect’s home.

“They came looking for him over here.  But we don’t know why,” she said. ”He didn’t have anything.  He had no enemies.”

The victim’s name has not been released.  Authorities said he was driving his car south on Aldine-Westfield when the occupants of another vehicle opened fire.

He was struck several times and crashed into a Taco stand in the 11900 block of Bertrand.

So far, no one has been arrested and investigators said they don’t have any suspects.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Harris County Sheriff’s Office at 713-755-6044.
