HOUSTON – Houston police are investigating a shooting that left one person dead Tuesday morning at a sports bar in southwest Houston.

The shooting occurred at 6 a.m. in front Cube’s Sport Bar in the 9600 block of Bissonnet, police said.

Investigators said that the victim was shot 10 times and then ran over with a car.

Police believe the victim was hanging out with some friends celebrating the New Year when he got into a heated argument with someone inside the packed bar.

One thing led to another, and the victim was shot in the parking lot. His friends left him for dead.

Back in November, another man was shot and killed at the bar. Just two weeks ago, another man was shot at the same location.

Area business owners said they are fed up with the crime that stems from the bar.

“It’s known for its crime and prostitution,” one business owner said. “There is a lot of stuff going on here after 12 p.m. There are the working girls and traffic jams everywhere.”

HPD said that there were 20 to 30 people in the sports bar when the altercation took place and are asking them to come forward with any information they may have.

The victim’s name has not been released yet.
