Police: Witnesses not cooperating in Fifth Ward shooting investigation

According to the Houston Police Department, nearby residents and witnesses were not cooperating in the investigation. HPD said the shooting was reported shortly before 10 p.m. Wednesday on Campbell Street at Bleker Street, possibly in front of the victim’s home.

HOUSTON -- Police said they were still looking for leads after the victim of a shooting was found lying in a Fifth Ward roadway overnight.

According to the Houston Police Department, nearby residents and witnesses were not cooperating in the investigation.

HPD said the shooting was reported shortly before 10 p.m. Wednesday on Campbell Street at Bleker Street, possibly in front of the victim’s home.

Police said there were about 10 shell casings in the street.

The victim was sent to the hospital where police hoped to get more information on the incident.
