SHENANDOAH, Texas – Some bank tellers in Shenandoah were sprayed with pepper spray by an armed robber Monday afternoon.

The suspect walked into the Citibank near I-45 and Vision Park just after noon.

He pulled a small semi-automatic rifle out of his backpack and demanded money, according to Shenandoah police.

Without warning, the robber suddenly pepper-sprayed a nearby customer and teller. The customer ran out of a back exit when the robber walked into an office and sprayed two more people. He then returned to the original teller and sprayed her.

The robber than fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of money.

He’s described as tall – about 6’4 – with shoulder-length dreads. Police say it's possible he was wearing a wig. He also wore jeans, a white t-shirt, a brown hoodie and a blue baseball cap. He carried a black backpack and is believed to be in his early 20s.

The pepper spray victims were treated on the scene and no one was seriously hurt.

The Woodlands Fire Department helped clear out the building.
