CHANNELVIEW, Texas – Channelview police are searching for a group of suspects who allegedly held a gun to a mother’s head and tied up a teen girl during a home invasion Monday morning.
Police said the mom and her children were home in the 15400 block of South Street when four masked suspects – armed with a gun, a bat and a stick—barged in shortly before 8 a.m. A fifth suspect remained outside listening to police scanners.
A 13-year-old girl was getting ready for school when the suspects grabbed her.
“I was straightening my hair and a man came with his gun and told me to go over here and not look at his face,” the teen said.
They threw the frightened girl to the floor and tied her up with shoe strings and a cell phone charger. They also tied the mother up and placed a gun to the woman’s head while her terrified 1-year-old daughter screamed.
The suspects ransacked the house, tearing open drawers and cabinets, looking for valuables.
They ended up taking about $1,000, the mother’s clothing and soap from the home before fleeing.
The family says they don’t have much. The father, who works for a piping company, is the sole provider. He was away at work when the suspects broke in. A 3-year-old also missed the terrifying ordeal. The little boy was home, but slept the entire time.
