Police: Man knocks out business owner in First Colony Mall restroom, takes cell phone

SUGAR LAND, Texas – Sugar Land police are searching for a man who attacked a store owner inside a restroom in First Colony Mall Monday night.

The 47-year-old victim was using a urinal in the bathroom near Designer Perfumes around 8:40 p.m. when another man suddenly attacked him, beating him unconscious, then took his cell phone.

A mall employee found the victim immediately after the incident and called police. The victim was transported to Methodist Hospital and later released. Police said the victim owns a store in the mall.

Surveillance video shows the suspect following the man into the restroom before the attack. The suspect is seen leaving a short time later, exiting the mall through a service door and driving away in a two-tone, four-door passenger vehicle.

The suspect is said to be 6 feet 1 inch to 6 feet 3 inches tall and between 30 and 35 years old. He was wearing a black polo/button-up shirt, black pants and black shoes.
