SOUTH HOUSTON, Texas—Two brothers are accused of attacking their 74-year-old stepfather and violently beating the defenseless man while he watched television, according to South Houston police.

Miguel and Martin Servantes were charged with injury to an elderly person.

Police said the elderly man was sitting in his rocking chair and watching TV on October 11 when his stepsons, who both appeared to be intoxicated, attacked him.

Miguel Servantes struck the man in the head and face with a closed fist about eight times and Martin Servantes punched him once in the face, according to court documents.

The stepfather was left severely bruised and in a lot of pain. His nurse found him later that day and said he was shaking and nervous, fearing his stepsons would kill him.

She drove him to the South Houston Police Department to file a report.

Arrest warrants were then issued for the brothers.
