PEARLAND, Texas – Police busted a grow house Saturday after discovering hundreds of marijuana plants inside a Pearland home.

The Pearland Police Department was tipped off by a post on their website that there was an odd smell coming from the neighborhood.

“Occasionally when I’m doing yard work there was like a skunk smell, when the wind is blowing, you would just get this odor of a skunk smell,” said neighbor Ashley Black.

When police took a look inside the house on Catamaran Cove Drive, they found more than 440 plants worth nearly $1 million.

The man who lives at the home, Hou The Fam, 36, was arrested.

Police Sgt. David Mayville, who’s been on the force for 20 years, said the plants were some of the best he has ever seen.

“That’s crazy, you never expect something like that to be happening in your neighborhood. I guess you never know,” said neighbor Jerome Floyd.
