HOUSTON—Police are praising a pawn shop manager for ushering her eight employees to safety before three sledgehammer-wielding suspects entered the store in northeast Houston on Friday.
Before the three men stormed into the Cash America on Airline near W. Mount, the manager saw one of them approaching and herded all employees to a back room.
No one had to interact with the suspects, who grabbed ring cases and fled.
No injuries were reported.
Investigators have not located the suspects and because of the way they covered themselves, they don’t have many details on the three men’s appearance. They do believe that the men were driving a white or light blue Buick LaSabre.
They also appeared to have been inside the Cash America before, according to police, because they seemed to know what they were looking for and headed right to it.
