HOUSTON -- If you live near Cornelius Elementary in southeast Houston, you’ll notice a few extra patrol cars in your neighborhood.

The Houston ISD Police Department is responding to reports of an attempted abduction Tuesday morning.

Cornelius principal Karen Jackson sent out a phone message to parents Tuesday, explaining that the attempted abductor apparently grabbed a 4th grade boy on his bike.

Police said the man started to drag the boy up a driveway, but the boy managed to break free and get away. He got to school and immediately reported the incident.

The suspect is described as man in a black jogging suit with a distinguishable mustache. Police said he was seen leaving the area on foot. The boy wasn’t hurt, but the neighborhood was on alert Wednesday morning as kids made their way to school again.
