HOUSTON—Pasadena police are investigating after a young girl said a man tried to get her into his vehicle.
It happened on Wednesday morning as a 13-year-old girl was walking to her school bus stop.
She told police she noticed a small black SUV following her. She said the driver honked at her as he drove by, then made a U-turn and pulled up beside her. The driver repeatedly told her to get into his vehicle, but she told him “no” and continued to walk.
The man eventually pulled into a driveway ahead of her, got out of his vehicle and began walking toward her, and the child ran off in another direction. The victim went home and called her mother, who notified the police.
Police released a sketch of the suspect and said he spoke to the victim in English and Spanish, routinely going back and forth between both languages. He was driving a newer model black or dark colored SUV, possibly a Chevrolet with dark tinted windows. The vehicle has been seen numerous times in the area, police said.
Anyone with any information is asked to call the Pasadena Police Department at 713-477-1221.
