HOUSTON – A Houston Community College police officer was forced to open fire Monday in the parking lot of the college’s central campus.
It happened at about 2:45 p.m. in the 3600 block of Austin at Alabama.
It all began with a domestic dispute. Investigators said a man was beating on a woman, who was either is girlfriend or his wife, in Parking Lot #10.
When police arrived on the scene the man refused to get out of his car and started to back out the parking space toward an officer, police said.
That’s when at least one officer pulled out his weapon and opened fire.
The man stopped and was taken into custody.
No one was injured.
The Houston Police Department was handling the investigation.
