HOUSTON —- Police are looking for a robbery suspect in a dark color Ford Crown Victoria following the shooting of a man in far north Houston.

It was around 1 a.m. Thursday when the shooting happened on Cotillion Drive near Aldine Bender Road, officers with the Houston Police Department said.

Police found a man shot once in his abdomen. He was sent to the hospital in serious condition.

According to HPD, a man walked up to the man and his wife, who was holding their baby, and demanded the man’s wallet. It was unclear if the man refused or tried to fight with the suspect, but the robber shot the husband once before taking his wallet and fleeing the scene.

The woman and baby were not injured.

Police said the crime happened as the couple talked outside an apartment complex.
