HOUSTON – A man was arrested after leading police on a chase on the 610 Loop through southwest Houston early Sunday, police said.

According to the Bellaire Police Department, it started around 2 a.m. on Bissonnet near South Rice.

The police officer saw a car pulling out of the parking lot of the bar with a male driver. Then the driver headed east on Bissonnet without turning on his headlights.

The officer tried to pull the car over, but he refused to stop and led police on a chase to the West Loop. He then proceeded to head south on the Loop to South Post Oak.

From there the suspect headed to Heatherbrook, where he could not drive the car anymore due to a flat tire, police said. The suspect had driven on the rim for quite a ways and had a thrown rod from the engine.

Police said the driver was arrested and was found to be intoxicated. He also had a bloody face when officers pulled him out, so police believe he was in some sort of fight at the bar he had just left.
