HOUSTON -- A Harris County jury found a 39-year-old man guilty Thursday in the murder trial of his girlfriend. In an interview with Dr. Phil, he insisted he didn't kill 31-year-old Michelle Warner.

But prosecutors said Mark Castellano choked Warner during a September 2012 argument at their Houston apartment. They contend he drove her body to West Texas and dumped it in a shallow grave near Midland.

Castellano at one point taped a segment with Phil McGraw for his nationally syndicated show asserting Warner walked out of their apartment following an argument and disappeared.

Jurors deliberated Thursday for a second day and returned a guilty verdict.

The punishment phase starts immediately. Castellano faces a life sentence.
