HOUSTON –- A killer was on the run early Tuesday after a man was shot to death in a quiet neighborhood on the eastern edge of The Heights, police said.
It was around 10:30 p.m. Monday when residents on Tabor at Pecore heard gunshots and called 911, officers with the Houston Police Department said.
Police found a dead male, age 27, in the street with a gunshot wound to the head.
“We have a couple of witnesses,” said police spokesman Mark Condon. “We’re looking into a few leads but nothing substantial right now.”
Witnesses told police they saw a dark brown two-door Toyota leaving the scene.
"I am shocked," said neighbor Ken Fornof. "It's a real surprise to me."
"It's a real nice community, too," said another resident. "People are nice and friendly here. It's shocking."
