HOUSTON—Police are searching for two suspects responsible for a home invasion shooting early Saturday morning.
Around 6:15 a.m., two men returned to the Casa Miranda Apartments on Fondren near W. Airport where they were staying with close family friends. They were the only people in the residence at that time.
Police say that when one of the men went to answer a knock at the door, two unknown men barged in. After a verbal exchange, the suspects fired at the victim.
The man who answered the door was shot an unknown number of times. He died at the scene.
The other resident was not hurt. He was in a back bedroom at the time of the shooting. The suspects are still at large.
Investigators believe that robbery was the motive, but they are still taking inventory of what was taken.
