HOUSTON – A 40-year-old man has been charged with intoxicated manslaughter after a two-vehicle accident left another man dead Saturday morning in east Houston, police said.
Angel Manuel Salinas is charged with driving while intoxicated in the death of a 40-year-old man, who was killed in the accident, court documents state.
According to the Houston Police Department, the fatal accident happened around 7:25 a.m. in the 3000 block of the East Loop.
Investigators said Salinas was driving a black Dodge Ram pickup truck north on the East Loop when he lost control of the vehicle. He then stalled in an adjoining lane, facing oncoming traffic and was struck by a maroon Chevrolet 1500 pickup truck.
The Chevrolet was then struck by a white Chevrolet Malibu, police said. The driver of the Chevrolet pickup truck was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators said Salinas was intoxicated at the time of the incident. He was arrested and charged.
