HOUSTON – A 33-year-old man has been charged in connection with the fatal shooting of a man on Jan. 1 outside of Cube’s Spots Bar in southwest Houston.
Rodrick Odell Williams was arrested Jan. 10 and was charged with murder in the 180th state District Court.
Homicide detectives with the Houston Police Department said that Williams shot Damon Romel Williams, 35, of Stafford, multiple times at 5:50 a.m. on New Year’s Day in a parking lot in the 9600 block of Bissonnet. The suspect and the victim are not related.
HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting call outside the sports bar and found the victom lying in the parking lot.
The victim had an argument with several other males inside the club. Several patrons were inside the club and in the parking lot when the shooting took place. However, they all fled the scene prior to the officers’ arrival.
