HOUSTON – A man was arrested Monday and charged in connection with the beating death of a 62-year-old Clear Lake-area father.
Al Dehghani was found dead on Jan. 8 inside one of his vacant rental homes located in the 5400 block of Malmedy in southeast Houston. Investigators said he suffered blunt force trauma and multiple stab wounds.
Vicente Mata, 19, was charged with capital murder and appeared in court Wednesday. Matta admitted that he was involved in Dehghani’s death, investigators said.
Family members described Dehghani as a real estate investor. They said he was last seen leaving his home on Meadow Grove Trail the day before his was found dead. Dehghani’s family said his cell phone and 2006 silver Honda Accord were stolen.
The vehicle was eventually recovered.
