HOUSTON – Police have charged a suspect in a terrifying and bloody attack on two homeless men in northeast Houston.
Court documents allege that Waris Sublet wore a Jason mask from the movie “Friday the 13th” as he brutally attacked the victims with a machete on Oct. 24 of 2012 in the 2700 block of East Crosstimbers.
As one man tried to defend himself, the attacker chopped off six of his fingers and he ended up passing out on the scene from the pain, according to court documents. The fingers were surgically reattached, but he ended up losing a pinky finger, a hospital nurse said.
Sublet was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. His bail is set at $30,000.
Sublet was previously convicted of robbery in Oct of 2009.
