HOUSTON—A man accused of beating a 7-year-old boy on numerous occasions has been charged with injury to a child.
Felix Irizarry warned the boy not to talk to anyone at school about the beatings, according to court documents. However, the child talked to school authorities on two different occasions when school officials noticed marks on the boy’s body.
School officials called the home to inquire about the injuries and as a result, the suspect beat the boy again, investigators said. School authorities contacted police and police questioned the boy’s mother. The mother admitted that she allowed her boyfriend to discipline her son when needed, according to court documents.
Irizarry was being held with no bond.
