MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Texas – Authorities arrested one man and are searching for two others in connection with a violent assault early Saturday in Magnolia, deputies said.
According to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, deputies received a call just after midnight from a Shell convenience store located near the intersection of Decker Hills Drive and Brownsville Road.
The victim told deputies that while at the gas station three men pulled him from his vehicle and assaulted him. He said a screwdriver was used to strike him on the head and that the three suspects then proceeded into his truck and drove away.
Based on the descriptions given by the victim, deputies determined the suspects were the same suspects from an earlier disturbance call in the area.
Another MCSO’s unit was able to locate the stolen vehicle being driven on a nearby roadway, deputies said. The vehicle was stopped and one of the suspects, Luis Corona, 18, was inside.
Corona was arrested on a charge of aggravated robbery, deputies said.
The victim was transported by ambulance to a local hospital for injuries he received while being assaulted.
Deputies said that the other two suspects remain at large. A description of the suspects has not been released.
