Deputies searching for suspect after man shot, killed in N. Harris County

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas – Authorities are looking for 38-year-old man after deputies said he shot and killed a man in his front yard in north Harris County, deputies said.

According Harris County Precinct 4 Constable’s Office, Michael Lamont Phillips is charged with murder in the shooting death of 24-year-old Delwynn Joe Davis. The shooting happened around 3 p.m. Saturday at a home in the 2300 block on Banquo.

When deputies arrived at the scene, they found Davis shot twice in the torso. The shooter had fled the scene.

Investigators said Davis had been to taken by Life Flight to a Memorial Hermann Hospital, where he later died.

After investigators spoke with witnesses, they said the victim and suspect were involved in an earlier physical altercation regarding a theft of drugs. The suspect later went to the victim's residence and confronted the victim and shot him twice on the torso and fled the scene.
