HOUSTON -- A mother and son were arrested on arson charges after they set a mobile home on fire, according to investigators.

Shelby and Shelly Henson were taken into custody Wednesday.

Arson investigators said the Henson's set the home on fire after it was foreclosed on early last month.

It happened on 14500 block of Duncum Street in Cloverleaf.

Arson investigators said nearby surveillance cameras caught them.

"Very nice, they don't talk to nobody," said neighbor Maria Rivas.

Maria Lopez, the new property manager, said her company R & R Properties felt sorry for the family. They gave them $1,000 to get back on their feet.

"The owners never paid the taxes and lost it for taxes,” said Lopez. “They didn't live too good. They lost the property, they lost the trailer. They lost all of their belongings they had.”

One neighbor saw them moving belongings and wasn't sure what was going on.

"When they try to take out the furniture outside, I say what happened. You buy a new furniture or something.”

The heartbreaking part, the Hensen's dog perished in the fire. They were later seen wrapping the dog in a blue tarp and dumping it in the backyard.

"Hopefully they get what they deserve," said Lopez.

We stopped by their new address. An employee there told us a church group felt sorry for them and helped raise money for them. Turns out, they're accused of trashing the place and taking off.
