BACLIFF, Texas — Two men were shot in an apparent argument about loud music that ended in gunfire Sunday afternoon, Galveston County Sheriff’s Office investigators said.
The shooting happened at about 5:45 p.m. in the 4900 block of Chase Stone, sheriff’s office Capt. Ray Benoist said.
The shooting reportedly happened after a man, who sheriff’s investigators said was the shooter, confronted neighbors about music being too loud. The argument then escalated when the man opened fire.
Two men were hit during the shooting. One was shot in the arm and chest while the other was shot in the leg, Benoist said.
Both men were taken to the University of Texas Medical Branch’s John Sealy Hospital. The first victim was in surgery Sunday night and his condition was unknown, Benoist said.
Investigators were not sure how many times he was shot.
The alleged shooter also was injured when he was grazed by a bullet from the pistol, which investigators said was a 9 mm. The man, who was not identified, had not been charged Sunday night.
Benoist said the neighbors reportedly had an ongoing feuding relationship.
