HOUSTON – Police are searching for a Houston man accused of assaulting and robbing his ex-girlfriend months after she broke up with him.
The attack happened on August 24 at the woman’s apartment located in the 9300 block of Beechnut.
The woman said as she was leaving to go to work Eric Jermaine Mike approached her from behind and said, “b---- I told you.” She said Mike had been verbally threatening to harm her since she broke up with him four month ago.
As she tried to reenter her apartment, he allegedly pushed her into the door and into the unit. Mike then went into the kitchen, retrieved a steel saucepan, and struck the victim twice on the head, before punching her in the mouth, investigators said.
When the victim's cell phone began to ring she said he pulled out a handgun and warned her to not move. Then he took her cell phone and her TV and left the apartment, police said.
Mike faces a felony charge of aggravated assault and robbery. He was previously convicted of possession of a controlled substance in 1997, and convicted of robbery in 2009.
